Robert Hunter VP honored for 18 years of service

The Robert Hunter PTO dedicated a new outdoor classroom, the Art Berman Character Garden, to the Robert Hunter School. The garden honors the 18 years of service retired vice principal, Mr. Berman (photo attached), gave to the Flemington-Raritan School District and the school. One of his most enduring accomplishments was the institution of the district character education program.

The creation of the ABC Garden was a community effort. The Robert Hunter PTO Boards of 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 played key roles in the creation of the garden. Local businesses including Home Depot of Flemington, Art Marsh Landscape Construction, Rutgers Landscape & Nursery, and Outsideclass, LLC provided labor and materials for the garden.

From the inception of the ABC Garden, volunteers who helped bring this vision to fruition were;Kathleen Morgante, Bob Jones, Douglas and Luke Morgante, Matthew, Grayson and HunterBillitti, Zachary Werner, Kimberly Lengen, Jeannine Kreilick, Beth Manzi, Toni Scheurer, Ryan DelHoyo, Christian Olivieri, Jeanne Luzzi,Jeff Karl and the Robert Hunter School PTO Board Members, including Robin L. McCrone,in whose memory a portion of this garden has been dedicated.

"On behalf of the Robert Hunter School staff and students, I would like to thank these fine community members for enhancing our school through their work on this project," said Dr. Rebecca Hutto. "We look forward to our continued partnership with our PTO, school families and the Flemington-Raritan community."
