• Jewelers often apply a rhodium finish to white gold to help it attain its characteristic white color. The finish wears away with time, use and contact but can be reapplied periodically
• Jewelry that incorporates leather or fur should avoid water
• Inspect gem settings of precious and semiprecious stones, and take time to have an expert check prongs yearly
