Having head lice may be a challenge and to some may even seem like a life calamity.
One OCD client I had, said she hyperventilated and was taken to the emergency room, when she realized her daughter had head lice.
She came twice a day for two weeks to make sure her spotless head, was lice free. (There are all sorts)
On the flip side, I had one happy parent bring his daughter,that had a head full of lice. He said to me "my daughters hair has thank G-d grown in after her chemo therapy, I am so thrilled she has hair to have lice in!"
Lice don't carry diseases and they are not a danger to your life. Lice may be a nuisance, but remember that, that's really all that it is. I would choose head lice challenge over many other life challenges out there.

Make the best of it, if your given the lice challenge, use it as a special time to bond.
One little client and I, played a game.
The first two lice that came out of her hair, were the bride and groom, each additional louse, became the guest to the lice wedding. When Her hair was cleared of the lice, she actually was disappointed to be lice free.
She had invited all of her family , class mates , neighbors, doctors, grocer,and the crossing guard and still wanted the police man and fireman... at her lice wedding.
