Have a dent in your car or a frozen lock in the winter? Check out these pro-tips from Farmers.com that will make car maintenance a breeze!

1. De-icing locks with hand sanitizer- In the winter, car locks can freeze up. Go ahead and squirt some waterless hand sanitizer on your key, then insert it into the lock. The alcohol in the sanitizer will melt the ice!

2. Removing dents with dry ice- The extreme cold of dry ice will pop dents in your car. Pick some up at your grocery store (Be careful not to touch it with your bare hands! You could hurt yourself). Apply the dry ice to the dent repeatedly until it is lifted.

3. Fixing scratches with nail polish- While touch up paint will always work best, nail polish can prove to be a quick fix. Clear nail polish will fill in the scratch while also preventing the metal from rusting.

4. Improving your fuel economy- There are plenty of ways to save on fuel economy! Try utilizing cruise control to maintain speed. Give the car in front of you more space so you can coast instead of accelerate. Also, try turning off your engine when you're stopped for more than a few minutes.

5. Cleaning foggy headlights with toothpaste- Headlights can get oxidized and dirty over time. Slather plenty of toothpaste on your headlights and buff it with a cloth. Rinse with water and wipe for headlights that are as good as new!
