Good news, motorists! The short-term outlook released August 12, 2014 by the U.S. Energy Information Administration says that gas prices will continue to fall through the rest of 2014. In July regular gasoline retail prices were an average of $3.61 per gallon. Regular gasoline retail prices are projected to continue to decline to an average of $3.30/gal in December. Much of these declines have been achieved by increased domestic oil production, in fact, U.S. total crude oil production averaged an estimated 8.5 million barrels per day in July. This is the highest production since April 1987.
This serves as a great reminder to keep our vehicles running as healthy as possible. We can save additional money on gas with routine maintenance on our cars, trucks and SUVs. According to the non-profit Car Care Council, routine maintenance helps your car reach its optimum miles per gallon. For most cars, every 3,000 miles you should have oil and the oil filter changed. Your local garage or Jack Williams Tire and Auto Service Centers can also checked things like tires and press, alignment, shocks, filters, and perform other diagnostics to keep your vehicle running strong.
