The Rolex and Dominos Collaboration

Rolex is one of the most well-known names in the luxury watch game. A pre owned mens Rolex can retain its value for decades, making the brand a favorite among collectors. If you are looking to buy a pre owned mens Rolex watch, visit this website.

When most people think of Rolex these days, they imagine those iconic lines like the Oyster Perpetual, the Submariner, or the Air-King. But Rolex has a history of quirky brand collaborations that result in truly unique timepieces. One great example is the Dominos Rolex!

Why Dominos?

Today, Rolex sticks to its own branding. But in the 1960s and 1970s, brand deals were relatively common. Rolex had partnerships with many well-known brands.

As a result, it's not uncommon to see watches on the secondary market donning logos from Coke, Chevrolet, and more. So why Dominos?

According to the founder of Dominos, Tom Monaghan, the collaboration began after a franchisee saw a branded Bulova watch he wore. After the franchisee asked about how he could get a Dominos-branded timepiece of his own, Monoghan hatched a plan!

Monaghan started to offer franchisees branded Seiko watches if they could get $20,000 in sales a week. After a few years of success with that incentive program, he turned to Rolex.

The program did a lot to help Dominos grow, and it continues to this day. Of course, the sales targets are much harder to meet. For this reason, Dominos Rolex watches are still a coveted rarity.

What Types of Rolex Watches are Available?

Initially, Dominos went with branded Air-King ref 5500 watches. However, it switched to Oyster Perpetual watches in 2014.

The design of the watch has evolved over the years. The logo placement, watch face color, and overall design improved. Women's watches were added into the mix, too.

The modern Dominos Rolex features minimalistic aesthetics with a simple brand logo.

Buying a Dominos Rolex

Finding a pre owned mens Rolex with the Dominos logo isn't tricky. They're a comparatively affordable model. However, older variations can fetch a pretty penny among collectors.
