Dos and don’ts of using an electric suspended platform

An electric suspended platform is one of the latest preferred working equipment that is not just favored in the construction industry but also in other sectors. Driven by a motor, this movable platform is suspended along a building's vertical surface with the help of strong steel wire ropes through a suspension mechanism that is placed at the building's top.

This awe-inspiring equipment allows for higher construction, strong construction adaptability, greater construction efficiency, a requirement for less manual labor, less occupation of the construction land, and convenient erection. However, there are certain rules that you must follow if you are a worker about to use it.

Things that you should do

• At the anchor ends, tightly secure all the ropes.

• Carefully check for damaged or kinked ropes.

• Before each shift and before erecting, inspect all equipment.

• See to it that the platform is installed properly as per the specifications of the manufacturer, safety regulations, and job requirements.

• Check whether each and every hand tool is tightly secured to the platform.

• Make sure that the toe boards and the guardrails are in their place.

• Ensure that the power source is carefully secured and grounded properly.

• If you have got the cutting-edge ZLP 1000 suspended platform recently, then secure the platform well when you aren't using it.

• Make sure there is no contact between grinding or welding equipment and suspension or wire safety ropes.

Things that you should never do

• Don't let electric connections or cables lie in deep gutters or other places where water can easily collect in no time.

• Don't use defective or damaged equipment.

• Don't remove, substitute, or even think of altering any part of the platform.

• Until and unless all the needed workers are there on it, never move it.

• In order to lower or raise materials or tools, don't use fall arrest systems.

• Until and unless it is mentioned in the manufacturer's guide, never try to join platforms.
