Long and Short Term Arts Education in France
When artists think of Paris they think of the great artists of the past who came to the salons and studios to hone their skills. An artist can still find her muse here.
For students of the arts, what better place to study than in Paris, France, the city of Renoir, Cézanne, Matisse, Degas and many others. There are numerous Paris art schools and art classes throughout the city where students can learn anything from plein air painting to art history and sketching.
The Atelier Alupi Art Studio
The Atelier Alupi Art Studio, located on the left bank, offers short and long-term courses lasting from 3 months to a year. This studio prefers small enrollments so that each student has the opportunity for one-on-one guidance. Students will study composition, drawing, color theory, realism, custom writing, dimensional art and still-life, using a variety of painting mediums.
Cost is approximate $1100 for a full year based on one class per week. This gives foreign students the opportunity to work or travel in France, as well as other parts of Europe.
Arts in Paris with Wells Study Abroad Programs
Study the arts in Paris with Wells Study Abroad programs. The Arts in Paris program includes art history, studio art and performing arts. Students have the opportunity to enroll for one semester or a full year and enrollment takes place in the spring and fall. Each semester lasts for 15 weeks.
The Arts in Paris program is housed in a converted loft across from the well-known Père Lachaise Cemetery in the eastern part of the city.
The Arts in Paris program is expensive, however – $15,000 for each semester which includes housing among other things, but the courses are in depth and in Paris.

Atelier de La Villa Bastile Art Classes in Paris
Enrolling with the Villa Bastile Art Classes in Paris, is ideal for a summer student who would like to study one day per week and travel around France during the rest of the time.
The cost for enrollment at Villa Bastile is approximately $430 for the three-month term. Students have a choice of life-drawing or painting techniques. - Roam the charming streets of the artistic community of Montmartre and watch the artists at work. This Paris art scene is lively. Montmartre is on a hill, but well worth the climb.
